So, as the other Downton Abbey player in the bar, I thought I'd drop you a line to say hello. I was tempted to have Branson tag Mary's post, but it looks like she's from before him in canon, and I didn't want to mess with anything on that front. :)
Hello! You observed rightly that Mary's still earlier in canon. I'm about to push her through to... Episode 2! So she's still about two years behind him. She'll catch up eventually, though, and they should run into each other then. Should be interesting, because although Mary's slowly becoming more accustomed to the informality of Milliways, it'll still be a bit jarring to for her to interact with a servant in a social setting.
Hee. When that happens Branson will keep just as much propriety as necessary to keep his job. Should definitely be interesting. :D
I was going to type up a couple of OOMs about his first few days at Downton, but I wanted to run that by you to see if you'd be okay with it. I think the only one Mary would be in is when he takes her and Sybil and their mother into town and they're talking about women's rights in the back of the car.
